If you're pursuing a B.A. do you plan to go to grad. school after? How many of you plan to teach? I'm just curious what people's future plans are. Also, where do you go to school?
I am currently at a community college. I'm transfering in the Fall to San Jose State Univ. (in California). After I get my B.A. I hope to go to UC Santa Cruz for their 5 quarter M.A./ teaching credential program. I'd come out of the 5 quarter program with a Master's in education and a Secondary School Teaching Credential.
What are your plans?

Tue, August 31, 2004 - 9:05 PMI am currently at Penn State getting my B.A. in English literature. I'd like to go to gradschool for at least a masters degree, not sure what I'd study though. I'm a bit burnt out with english. -

Sun, September 5, 2004 - 12:10 PMI am filling out applications to various MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) programs. While not really burnt out on English, I just can't see myself writing scores and scores more literary criticism papers. And to what end? With my M.A. in English I could teach in two places; community college and high school. In order to make the big money and have the real fun, I would have to do a doctoral program, of which I am not sure I really want to partake. So, with the MLIS, I get to do something totally different school-wise for a while, and in the end, still get to be around a ton of books, *and* impact people's reading habits.

Tue, February 8, 2005 - 1:26 PMI'm doing a double major of English and Linguistics at NMSU. I haven't decided as to whether or not I'm going to grad school.
And honestly, I have no clue what I'm going to do afterwards. Ideally, I'd like to get a job as a private translator or something, or do work in publishing, but you never know.
