At NMSU, they offer a Childrens' Literature course for students of a junior or higher standing, and I'm taking it fall semester of 06- I'm really, really looking forward to that one. Also Chaucer, because I'm kind of a Canterbury dork.

Any class/es you're dying to take?

Actually, this hasn't much to do with English but I'll answer anyway because there IS a class I'm just dying to take. Actually I think I may have to create it.

I have an eight year old son who is, if I may say so myself, rather academically gifted. I'm concerned about the public school system failing to express his full potential. I think the best route is to home school during his middle school years. I have big plans but very little concrete knowledge of curriculum development or the home schooling system.

I found out the classes in middle school curriculum development coincide with other commitments this summer so I've emailed the professor to see if he/she will supervise an independent study. I'd like to learn about/critique middle school curriculum while adding suggestions and using travel as a source of study. I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS! We'll see what the professor says.
