I'll start. Right now for my Jacobean Drama class I'm doing an annotated bibliography for a report on Thomas Middleton and The Revenger's Tragedy.

I am focusing on : The Revenge Tragedy form, stage violence, bastardy, and double identity because those are the topice about
which I've found articles. My partner in the report is doing something on gender and women in The Revenger's Tragedy and also
the authorial debate. (some people attributed this play to Torneur, not Middleton.)

The thing is due on Monday night and I am about 1/3 of the way through, so I am not worried, just a little concerned. I should work for about 4 hours today, 4 tomorrow, 4 monday.

don't let me forget I'm supposed to watch Daughters of the Dust and Monster's Ball at another professor's house on Sunday night
for our Contemporary Southern Literature Class.

What are you all doing for school lately?

Since I'm not in school this year, I've been reading like a madwoman. Joining a local book club has increased the variety of genres I'm dabbling in. Here's what I've read this month:

This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color by Cherrie Moraga and Gloria Anzaldua

Emotional Alchemy by Tara Bennett-Goleman

Wicked by Gregory Maguire

A Gentle Madness by Nicholas Basbanes

Bastard Out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison

Lathe of Heaven by Ursula LeGuin

Ancient Mirrors of Womanhood by Merlin Stone

Forgiveness by Sidney and Suzanne Simon

Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

The Church and the Second Sex by Mary Daly

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

All very delicious!

At NMSU, they offer a Childrens' Literature course for students of a junior or higher standing, and I'm taking it fall semester of 06- I'm really, really looking forward to that one. Also Chaucer, because I'm kind of a Canterbury dork.

Any class/es you're dying to take?

Just curious...What do you plan to do after you get your degree?

If you're pursuing a B.A. do you plan to go to grad. school after? How many of you plan to teach? I'm just curious what people's future plans are. Also, where do you go to school?

I am currently at a community college. I'm transfering in the Fall to San Jose State Univ. (in California). After I get my B.A. I hope to go to UC Santa Cruz for their 5 quarter M.A./ teaching credential program. I'd come out of the 5 quarter program with a Master's in education and a Secondary School Teaching Credential.

What are your plans?

Tutoring

I'm an English/Comparative Literature student. Once I have my B.A., I will pursue a Secondary Credential, in hopes of teaching High School English. In the mean time, I'd love to tutor individual students. I'm willing to work with both children and adults. I know grammar and am a good editor, but I don't feel fully prepared to tutor people without any prior experience. Does anyone here know of a brief training I could go through to prepare me for such an endeavor? I’d appreciate any advice you may have for me. Thanks in advance!
